Kjerstin is a high school senior at an international school in Singapore. She was invited by polar explorer Robert Swan, the first person to walk the North and South Poles, to join an expedition to Antarctica in November 2026. During this adventure, Kjerstin will walk the ice herself and learn from world-class experts about climate and sustainability, storytelling, and leadership. Follow along on her journey south!
Kjerstin loves being outdoors and everything to do with nature. She is full of stories about the trips she has loved, backpacking adventures (or even misadventures!), and her time at a YMCA summer camp in northern Minnesota.
Kjerstin values the chance to see the world and appreciate it for all that it is. She is aiming to study environment and sustainability next year in university (school choice is still TBD!) This trip will lay an amazing foundation for her studies and help continue to build her network of like-minded leaders.
For Kjerstin, this trip will allow her to experience Antarctica, teach young people about the importance of the world around us, and learn about a place that will need protection in years to come. All of this makes it an incredible opportunity for Kjerstin.
